Projects I’m Absolutely Jazzed to Formally Present... soon!

Psst! This is my favorite page where I am excited to share design projects I’m working on, brainstorning, and dreaming about! I’d love to talk about these ideas more in persion. Reach out to me in the INFO page if you have ideas, comments, questions, or general curiosity!

UI/UX REDESIGN

IDEA | What if there was...

...a better podcasts app.
Problem | The Apple podcasts app has imroved within the last year, but the design and usability leaves the user wanting. Spotify and other music apps are trying to do it all, and third party dedicated apps work well, but don’t function and recommend based on listener suggestions.

Solution | A podcast app that recommends new pods based on common interests and seeing what your friends listen to while encouraging the user’s quick and easy review and recommendation. Other features include set playlisting and “top 40” like charts. Think social media meets podcast.

IDEA | What if there was...

...an image of my hometown that illustrated the effects of climate change

Problem | The townfolk of Muskegon, MI are a notoriously purple county - as is the rest of the state. Our beautiful beach specifically on the southern half eroded due to rising water levels in the Great Lakes region beginning around 6 years ago leaving much of the public beach unusable and dangerous to visit. The beach has improved, and people and some wildlife has returned, but now people are already forgetting about these alarming changes

Solution | Create imagery that highlights the devastation and human imact on the environment. How? A harsh contrast linoleum print of a beautiful but eroded lakeshore, and bright overlaying caution tape.

Right | Progress thus far on the lino print - proof print. I’m not yet getting the print right becuase it’s a large scale lino and my body weight isn’t quite enough of a press. More cutting is desired as well. TOP, BFK Reeves. BOTTOM, mulberry paper

I’m pumped to make a lino/screenprint art piece!
